Captain Steve was an incredible tour guide! He was very knowledgeable on the local flora and fauna, as well as the history! Pictured is: an alligator, a great blue heron, a double-crested cormorant, face tree, whiskey tree, and a raccoon (George Cooney XD).

Captain Emmett (I'm sorry I hope I'm spelling his name right) literally made our trip. It was cold so we unfortunately did not see any Gators but we still seen birds and my raccoons!!!! He has an insane amount of knowledge about the boat and he made it a very funny personable experience. We went on the 24 people boat, I was a bit worried about not seeing any sights but even in that boat the swamp was gorgeous. The actual ride is peaceful and just so scenic to look out from, Emmett has definitely said some things that stuck with me. My favorite fact is learning that Gators can brumate up to 2 years and plus, then my actual favorite one was also how you can use a certain bone from a raccoon to use as a cork stopper. All ima say on that, love Emmett, he just made it so much more enjoyable. He has a radiating personality and very memorable. Thank you Captain Emmett, I hope to get you again when we come back for the warmer days!!! :)))

Captain Scott was a legend. His knowledge of the flora and fauna was fantastic and his shared experience of the region as a born and raised local really made the tour special. He is beloved by the cutest raccoons that he lets you give treats to also. I highly recommend the $35 tour and make ask for Captain Scott. He also went out of his way to show us a huge gator “old faithful”.

Captain Jacob and Derek our bus driver made this experience absolutely excellent! Jacob was friendly, knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and went above and beyond to ensure we saw as much wildlife as possible, including many gators, birds, turtles, raccoons and even an otter! Derek made the drive so much fun by giving us an overview of New Orleans and plenty of recommendations for the best restaurants across the city. Very nice, clean bus and smooth rides both ways. Can’t recommend Cajun Encounters enough!

This Tour was AMAZING. Wow the Pick up and drop off with the Bus driver (Bryan i think) was so much fun and really easy! He also gave us a lot of facts about Nola. The swamp Tour was incredible, the weather was kinda chilly. I did this tour alone, but trust me when I say I had the best time ever! Thank You for that experience!

I had fun on the boat cruise and enjoyed our tour guide Marc’s information as he showed us around the swamp. We saw birds, gators, snakes, and raccoons. We were there on a very nice weather day, so being on the boat cruising around was comfortable. I would definitely recommend doing the tour if you have any interest in the swamp and the animals that live out in it.

First did this tour back in 2021 and I couldn’t wait to come back and enjoy it again! Tony was the best alligator instructor ever! Super knowledgeable and friendly, so glad to we got to sit in the seat right next to the captain’s chair. We saw so many alligators on this run including many baby gators. This tour is a must every time I come to New Orleans.

Exceeded my expectations. Barry was an extremely knowledgeable swamp guide. He clearly is very familiar with this exotic area and was an encyclopedia of interesting information on the river, swamp, marshes, and bayou. Such a beautiful area with spectacular scenery. Saw baby alligators that were just 8 inches long, saw medium size swimming alligators, and saw a big daddy alligator probably about 10 feet. Also saw all kinds of birds, turtles, and raccoons too. This tour was the highlight of Louisiana!

This was such a great tour!! We did the swamp tour on the small boat. Captain David was wonderful and hilarious! Our driver Deryl was very knowledgeable and gave us a good history of the city and Katrina. The Whitney plantation tour was amazing and very somber. I highly recommend these tours. Suggestion: if you take them both in the same day take food. There is no stop for lunch in between the swamp tour and plantation tour. Well worth it though
